I am proud and happy to be the Library Media Specialist here at Pinewood! I especially enjoy being able to work with all students in all grade levels at Pinewood. My goal is to help every student find something they enjoy reading. My special interest is in technology and I feel so privileged that I am able to work with students on some of the best educational technology available. I believe technology can be the key to get any student to enjoy school and learning.
I came to teaching later in life, but it is the career I have hoped for since I was in 2nd grade. I got my undergraduate degree at UNO in '95, then continued on to get my Masters Degree in Educational Technology from Lesley College in '98. I then continued on to get my Library Endorsement from UNO in '04. I began teaching 6h grade at Pinewood in '96. Then I went on to 5/6 multiage. I finally moved to the Library in '03 and I am very happy to continue here at Pinewood. I am a great believer in the multiage philosophy and I think Pinewood has the best staff and students in the district.
My greatest joy in my personal life are my granddaughters, Madison and Macy. Their mom, my daughter, and her husband live close by so I get to babysit and see them often. I now understand why everyone brags about their grandkids so much!
